RCT4M Track Lengths (Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 Mobile)

NOTE: This is a work in progress. I'll add track types as I learn more. Determining track length in RCTM4 can be a bit tricky. I should warn you that though I've tried to be accurate, but my testing only shows that I'm close, not perfect. For these specific track lengths, I'm using a steel custom coaster.

Here's what I've found so far:
  • Single Straight Piece: 6.5 Feet
  • Wide 1/4 Turn: 29.125 Feet
  • Slim 1/4 Turn: 18.625 Feet
  • Loops (Left or Right): 94.5 Feet

First I Built a Small Track
I started off with a small coaster. 4 wide turns and the rest are straights.

This coaster is 162 feet. Which will officially be my starting point.

Next I added two straights.
On the 2nd half of my coaster, I then added two straight pieces, one on each end of the 2nd turn.

You'll now see that my track length is at 175 feet. Having added two straights and an increase in 13 feet, I know that each straight piece is 6.5 feet.

Now I Count My Straight Pieces
This little count of straights kills two birds with one stone. If I count my straights (I have 9 in this one), multiply that by 6.5 subtract that from the total length, I'm left with 116.5 feet. Divide that by 4 and I get the length of the 4 wide 1/4 turns (It takes two 1/4 turns to turn the coaster 180 degrees.). 116.5/4 = 29.125 feet per wide 1/4 turn!

Next I'll Shorten My Turns

If I change the wide 1/4 turns to slim 1/4 turns, my new track length is 133 feet. Subtract the 9 straight pieces (58.5 feet for those), and I get 74.5 feet remaining. Divide that by 4 and I get 18.625 feet per 1/4 turn.

Calculating Loop Lengths
To calculate loop lengths, I built a simple coaster with 4 wide 1/4 turns, 8 straights and 1 loop. The total length of the coaster is 263 feet. the 4 wide turns are 116.5 feet total, and the 8 straights are 52 feet total. That totals 168.5 feet, which means my loops are a WHOPPING 94.5 FEET! They're expensive, but a great way to build a long coaster.

  3. Not the answer you want, but I too had to refer back to this site becUse if scenario 23. There’s got to be a cheaper way. Unless I live on the game for almost $500k
